 It’s that kind of morning

Crisp

Sparkling grass

Dripping wet from recent rains

Dogs breath steaming upward

Sunlit fluffy clouds drift

Pushed along

By a skiff of a breeze

Settling in the valleys

Clinging to the trees

Finally feels like fall

Aspen oh Aspen

 The day was young

A glimpse of dawn

From skye-light hung

The Aspens

The Aspens stood quietly

Waiting

Waiting for the very first breeze

To shake their glossy manes

In the earl October freeze

Gently rising

Myst from the lake

All were waiting

For the Aspens to Quake

The sun drifted up slowly

Awakening the breeze

Sending the signal to awake 

Oh Aspen, Oh Aspen

Standing in the breeze

Quake, Quake, my beautiful,

My beautiful Aspen Trees!

 I can’t breathe

I can’t breathe

Until you’re 

Resting

Here with me

Fall

Where nature drifts off

In to silent slumber

To rest

To rejuvenate 

To prepare for growth

We too

Should take time

Away from computers & phones

Hustle & bustle

Take time

Drift in to nature

Prepare for rebirth

Feather in the sky.

A feather fallen

a curlv leaf

landed in my path

stripped from the tree

with windy wrath

How amazing a leaf can be

Hanging high for all to see

Whispering with the wind

Playful words never to rescind

Oh to be a leaf

In summer heat

Providing shade

For those in the street.

Soon turning to fall

with vivid color

Enjoyment for all

Shimmering in the sunlight

Oh beautiful leaf

Soon to be in winter sleep...
