landed in my path
stripped from the tree
with windy wrath
How amazing a leaf can be
Hanging high for all to see
Whispering with the wind
Playful words never to rescind
Oh to be a leaf
In summer heat
Providing shade
For those in the street.
Soon turning to fall
with vivid color
Enjoyment for all
Shimmering in the sunlight
