 I’m having a problem

Autumn’s Glaze

A tapestry of colors
Soon to Fade
The month of November
When memories were laid
Vibrant hues of Crimson & Gold
Fade to gray
As the year turns old.

The day shortens
Birds wing their flight
In dimming light

The sky darkens
Stars twinkle in the night
Slumbering deep
The earth goes to sleep

Between

 A Rock & a Hard Place

I’m not sure what to do

I guess I could always live

In my empty house

And hope I have

At least a bare light bulb

Sept 7, 2010 Memory

Fabulous weekend....minus the 20+ mile killer bike ride on Sunday with not enough water....had to fix that with being taken out to dinner...and Ben and Jerry's icecream for dessert!  :  )

If I had written

 Last picnic

It might have been stated differently:

Let this picnic

Not ever be our last

Instead

Let’s hope for many more

A loaf of bread

Some grapes & cheese

A simple lunch

Please

Unfold a quilt &

Let’s languish by the side of the sea

Wander & wonder

Amongst bright orange

And yellow leaves

Winter is sure to come

And with warmth of a fire

And your love

Last Picnic

 Last Picnic

Before the fall rains arrive, Let's have one more picnic,

Now that the leaves are turning color And the grass is still green in places.

Bread, cheese and some black grapes Ought to be enough,

And a bottle of wine to toast the crows

Puzzled to find us sitting here.

If it gets cold--and it will--I'll hold you close.

Night will come early.

We'll study the sky hoping for a full moon

To light our way,

And if there isn't one, we'll put all our trust In your book of matches And my sense of direction

As we go looking for home.

I check

 Now and then

If you write it

I will read it

Layers

Yellow, lavender, orange framed by dark shadowy trees.

I’d like to take out that clump in the middle. 😄

CHAOS

 Maybe that’s the best description.

Items being sorted, packed,

Moved to the living room, the porch

No other place to put items

That belong to a long passed MIL

Saving them for the son

Who wants them saved

But will go into shock when he sees the amount of unused

Long forgotten items.

Then

Unpacking my stuff

Or some of it.

Half will probably stay packed.

Too much STUFF!

I won’t be taking a UHAUL to heaven tho.

I can easily leave the STUFF  behind.

Days are getting easier

But still so much to do.

I try to enjoy the sky & beautiful countryside during small parts

Of each day.

Consumed

 Maybe even frozen

Agitated

Aggravated

Conflict every day.

Sleepless nights

Surrounded by clutter

Disarray

Lost emotionally.

Only finding peace

When I sit with the dawgs.

I SHOULD HAVE STAYED

Maybe another month? Another year?

I don’t know.

There’s a song - A thousand years ~ doesn’t quite apply to our situation but I do feel like I’ve loved you for a thousand years.

I know you, but I don’t know you.

I understand you, yet I don’t.

So much of our time spent together

will

oft be thought of when the moon shines full until it slivers away.

Will oft be thought of when a gentle breeze rustles fall leaves

Will be oft thought of When the skuye sends up the colors of blue earth shadows, lines of orange

And fluffy pinks until the sun sinks.

A Journey

It’s been a journey

Almost 17 years

From passions fire to coals gone cold

Never forgotten

A bond so sweet

Stirred a gentle breeze

A few lingering embers

Caught to flame

And yet again to wain

Gentle, kind, your love so sweet

Could not compete

And you turned the other way

With stranger pull from elsewhere.

In loves journey

Take a stand

Let loves passion fire

Love -wild & free

Our hearts are tangled

Complicated

When we are together

It’s hard to define

It’s comfortable

A warm embrace

And inner desire held back

It’s a dance of joy accompanied by pain

So complicated adding strain

A kiss meant for the cheek?

Somehow met lips

Almost awkwardly

Like teenagers first kiss were we.

We tried again

But it’s complicated

Lacking total release

Of love and friendship deep

We find peace and companionship

Warmth in the embrace and unspoken love

It’s complicated

For me

Not quite understanding

Why we couldn’t “be”

I love you that is true

But why couldn’t we-just be?

 I’m wondering

Where are you?

Do you see the same moon

As I do?
